Many think that God
approves wars, they think that he commanded some of his people in the ancient
time to engage in warfare. The bible says in Matthew 5:43, 44 that we should
love our enemies and even ray for them. This has let other people say that maybe
God’s view of war has changed and today he disapprove not like in past where he
could approve and even support his servants like David, Joshua, and others to
victory.
What do you think?
Does God approve wars? If he approves whose side does he take in today’s
conflicts? As children of this continent an as a child of Congo a country that
has been affected by wars for more than25 years finding answers affected my own
way of viewing war. For example if you knew that God does not only approves war
but also support the side that you favour in a particular war, likely you would
feel good about your stand on the issue, confidently that your side would come
off victorious. On the other hand, how would you feel if you learned that God
supports the opposing side? Likely you
would reconsider your position for the matter. Something more important is at
stake. Knowing how God view war may affect how you personally view GOD… you
need to continue reading then to find out what he says on this matter through
his holy words. Is God as some believe, a war monger who allows or even
encourage the suffering associated with wars or might he be passive and
unconcerned about the war fare of the oppressed? I thank God for he does
nothing in secret, I read many books on this subject but I could not find the
answer not until I opened his word and I found the answer… today my hope is
based on the reality I found in the bible… you may also be like me with many
questions of the kind don’t delay read the verses bellow you’’ get a clear
answer.
TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
IN THE ANCIENT PAST:
Exodus: 1: 14; Exodus
3:7-10; Psalms 136:15; Exodus 15:4.
God alone determine
who would engage in war and when such warfare would take place… read: 2Chronicles
20:17; 32: 8; Deuteronomy 7:1, 2; Joshua 10:40
God does not take
pleasure in the death of human, including the wicked… read: Psalms 36:9; psalm
37:12,14; Psalm86:15 Deuteronomy 20:10-13; Ezekiel 33:11, 14-16 After reading
these scripture I found that in the ancient time God viewed warfare as a
legitimate means of bringing an end to various form of oppression and
wickedness. Note it was God to determine the when and who to engage in them.
TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
IN THE FIRST CENTURY Luke 24:21
: In the first
century, the same Israelite he delivered from Egypt were oppressed and there
were expecting the messiah to free them or God to allow them engage in wafare
with his support as he used to do… Jesus taught love of enemy… Some books say
that Judas thought that Jesus’s mission was to start a rebel group to save the
nation… Today people are being oppressed in our nations and many are crying to
God for relief and wonder if relief will ever come. Here is what to consider:
God has heard their cry, he has set even the time for war to end the oppression
we are suffering. Read: Psalm 72:13, 14; Thessalonian 1:7, 8;
Revelation19:11-16
God is not taking part
in today’s wars… its clear in Romans12:17; Wave to wait patiently Armageddon
Psalm37:7; Psalm46:9; Issaih34:2
